Leagues

LEAGUE RULES:
The league will have five rounds of play culminating with a single elimination league championship playoff. All league play will be subject to USA Pickleball Association Rules. Players should be 3.5 - 5.0 skill rating based on the USA Pickleball rating system. "Blue" denotes a skill level of advanced. Participating players will provide equipment. Matches are to 11 points, win by 2.
Teams will be women's doubles (female/female) and will request partner when registering.
For 12-team leagues, teams will be placed in two divisions and will play each team in the division four (4) times, all of which will occur on a league night i.e. Team A and Team B will play four (4) matches against each other on a league night rather than scattered throughout the schedule. 6-team leagues will be in one division.
The league has one extra week built-in for weather postponements and a championship playoff tournament will be played on the last date of the league.
Rain make-ups for matches will fall to the teams to coordinate and make-ups and need to be played prior to the next league night. League director will postpone due to weather by 2pm on league day. If play is postponed during matches, the responsibility falls to the teams to resume, and make-up matches prior to the next league night. Scores are to be reported to league director by both teams. Court reservations can be made free of charge by request for rain postponements.
No Call/No Show will result in a league night forfeit (four [4] matches) to the team that does not show and does not notify. If a team is unavailable for a league night, they must contact the league director and the opposing team at a minimum of 24 hours prior to league night to be missed. Responsibility falls to the team that needed to miss league night to reschedule the matches. Matches must be played prior to the next league night.
Substitution is allowed is allowed only for an illness or an injury that compromises more than one (1) league night. For example, if a team misses a league night because of a member’s allergies, they will need to notify the league director and opposing team within 24 hours of league night and are responsible for scheduling make-up matches. If team player needs to miss two weeks because of a sprained ankle, then the team can notify the league director and have a substitute supplied for those two weeks or beyond. A sub pool, if available, will be kept by the league director and will be used on a first signed up/first used basis. No sub requests.
League Champions, winners of the single elimination tournament, may choose to stay in the Blue League until they win another league championship. Once a team or player wins two championships in the Blue League, they are encouraged to participate in available advanced tournaments.
